Cookies and consent

The website of Pâtisserie Coco Vanille, the shop at 3 rue Court in Granby, Québec, only uses the cookies it needs to work by default, such as “My box” and payment security. Audience-measurement tools stay off until you turn them on. This English translation is provided for information; in case of discrepancy, the French version prevails.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser to remember something, such as what is in your box or your cookie choice.

Which cookies does the site use?

The site uses two kinds of cookies: essential ones, always on, and audience measurement, only with your consent.

  • Essential, always on: “My box”, form and payment security, and remembering your cookie choice. Without them, online ordering does not work.
  • Audience measurement, off by default: tools that count visits and may track your browsing. They only load after you agree. Tools chosen: none for now; a tool added later will be named here before it is turned on.
  • Advertising: no advertising cookies and no advertising pixels.

How do I give or change my choice?

When a measurement tool is offered, a banner asks for your choice, with “Refuse all” and “Accept all” the same size, plus “Choose”. The “Cookies” link at the bottom of every page lets you change that choice at any time, as easily as you gave it.

How long are cookies kept?

It depends on the cookie: “My box”, 30 days; the “Message us” conversation, 90 days; an order form in progress, 10 minutes. You are asked again if the list of tools changes.

Does the site track you without cookies?

No advertising tracking. The server keeps technical logs, such as the IP address and the page requested, for security and to count visits in aggregate, without cookies.

Frequently asked questions

Does the site work if I refuse everything?

Yes: refusing audience measurement changes nothing about the site’s content or online ordering.

Do you use the Facebook pixel?

No: the site uses no advertising pixel, from Meta or anyone else.

Why is “Refuse all” as visible as “Accept all”?

Because refusing must be as easy as accepting: both buttons have the same size and style.

Is my choice recorded?

Yes: your choice is recorded with its date and the version of the text shown, without your name, to prove consent.

Can I block essential cookies too?

Yes, in your browser settings, but “My box” and online payment will stop working.
